Description
We are looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to join our accounting organization and become a key contributor to our accounting team. As a key member of the UK and Global Accounting team, this person will be based in London. A successful candidate for this position will have demonstrated experience with financial reporting and internal control responsibilities.
The role has responsibility for Controller and Accounts functions in support of UK operations. Accounting flows operate across multiple legal entities with the involvement of multiple stakeholders in different locations.
In addition to accounting and reporting responsibilities, the individual will drive cross-border projects and develop best practices in procedures and controls internationally. He will also drive the implementation of policies with the financial leadership team based at Amazon locations around the world.
Candidates for this position must have held supervisory or management positions in companies with less than $1 billion in annual revenue, have worked for a Big Four public accounting firm at the manager level with Fortune 500 clients or the equivalent, or have worked for a large public Must have worked in Company as a Manager. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate that they were top performers at their level.
Scope / Key Responsibilities:
Supporting the global accounting function, this position has a mix of operational and project based new professional accounting responsibilities including but not limited to:
Accounts Team Representation
Preparation of various deliverables to support both internal and external financial reporting requirements, including analytical commentary and preparation of supplemental financial analysis for management and other stakeholders.
Ø Key Financial Statement Reviews
Preparation and review of monthly balance sheet account reconciliation.
Direct responsibility for improving accounting procedures and controls for a company with high volume transactions.
Leading close activities at the end of some month, ensuring relevant deadlines are met and continually looking for ways to improve the process.
Actively participating in cross functional project launch from scoping through testing and till launching.
Responsibility to actively engage with various stakeholders within the business including technology and administrative team on business integration projects.
basic qualification
BA/BS required
Ø ACCA, ACA, and CIMA or similar credentials
Ø Relevant accounting experience (public accounting / industry mix preferred)
Exposure to operational accounting concepts of inventory, purchases, payables, receivables, and revenue
Demonstrated ability to participate in milestone driven projects
strong desire to exceed expectations
Ø Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
Solid organizational, project management skills and information technology qualifications
The ideal candidate will be an experienced, talented finance or accounting professional who is passionate and enthusiastic about accounting and reporting and has experience with detailing monthly closing cycles, periodic financial reporting and related analytical analysis.
